Dane'e Patten-Speight
Dane’e Patten-Speight grew up in Southeast, Washington, D.C., and is currently studying at Virginia State University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Technology. Dane’e has submerged herself in the engineering and technology culture by engaging with associations such as SWE and NASBE, attending career fairs meeting with heads of leading engineering firms and research intuitions. Dane’e partook in many unique opportunities, gaining inimitable experiences; Electrical engineers are scarce and Electrical Engineering Technologist are even more scarce. While attending Virginia State University Dane’e has forged her way to an opportunity to work on the SAE car at Virginia State University; meeting the lead designer and president on the University’s Formula One Race Car design team, Nicole Adia Jefferson.
Dane’e worked as Research & Development Intern for Boston Scientific, and was selected for a rare opportunity to work as an Engineer’s Apprentice at Dominion Power of Virginia. Dane’e found herself collaborating with Nicole Adia Jefferson and Britton Bean to support, promote, and produce Clean-tech, tinkering, alternative energy, and so much more. Dane’e is a senior at Virginia State University; managing day-to-day logistical factors to insure Ovr Act Imagination runs smoothly.
